Printing workshop in Middelburg /

Printing workshop in Middelburg, Zeeland /

the event was held in a place like an old city hall,
like the one across the new church in Delft.
inside the building, the structure is a bit like church.

this is how it looks inside,
lots of printing done by Quinten

i love this small printings inside the vinyl cover,
and most of the vinyl case are re-designed.

it is a series of workshop for two weeks since Oct.8th.
which includes printing workshop, book making, vinyl making, poster printing workshop
i found it though the website of Time/Bank,
[still need to figure out what it is about, first saw it in Den Haag]

是在time/bank的網頁看到的

haven't seen all these printing tools for quite a long while after junior high school

the man who sat in front of me is the vinyl maker from Antwerp,
i like his glass :)
he was making some drawings and put them together into a transparent vinyl cover.
he was not there for printing in particular,
was there for fun, for the atmosphere.

the original drawing for the printing.
have been thinking about making a print with knife/fork/spoon for quite a while,
dont know what is triggering me behind this drawing,
but sometimes life just doesn't need so many reasons and arguments
[yes, in your master thesis, everything needs an argument, don't forget to make a reference]
however, i was indeed thinking about a sentence for this drawing
it is called "food for thought"

"food for thought"

and then comes the important part,
turning your hand drawing into a thin layer of "something i don't even know"
the basic idea is a bit like screen printing,
there will be a needle in the right part of the machine,
making holes on the part that was drawn in black
therefore the place drawn in black will be sort of hollow, letting the ink go though.

waiting for mine

done,
the thin thin thin paper-like-"thing"
this is how it looks like

and then put the finished thing paper on the machine on the left,
put on some ink, start rolling!!
start printing!!!! you can produce as much as you want,
and even repeat the work, upside down, overlapped and etc,
basically it's just like doing an experiment.
the instructor- Quinten said it's a machine for producing low quality printing during world war two.

 some printings i made

was printed on a piece of long-long-long paper

my work  and the works from other people

mine, mine

then i use the machine i'm familiar with,
we had two/one in our junior high school.

have cut several circle, triangle, just some simple shape,
colored them with red and yellow ink,
randomly placed on the printing i made previously.

during the process, there are a couple helping me out taking the incredibly long paper many times,
very appreciate the ones who are interested in my works and talked to me that day.

ink

the old printing machine

the results of using two kinds of printing machines,
very interesting:))

it was a really nice and relaxing event
